After 1871 and his mother's death, William Mack (Inherited land from his father). After Jonathan Francis Horrell died, his land went to William Mack Horrell, which was customary back then - the oldest son usually became the heir.
October 27,1874 On last Saturday night, one mile and a half below Beattly's Bridge in Bladen County - A fire occured which consumed one store house, one work shop - all property belonging to William C. Horrell. Estimated loss $2000 and no insurance
