That is the problem.
1. According to Mrs McKenzie she told me that that the marriage of Mary Price and James Wells seemed logical, so she put them there.
2. The other writings are simply that, writings by someone else who guessed. I am trying to find documenation.
3. According to your information, like the others. James Wells born 1728 was fathering children at 70+ years of age, and I am quit sure that Mary Price could not be doing so.

From here on down Thomas Wells born 1790 another 10 years, but 40 are within reason years from 1st child ?

The first three siblings do not belong in that family line up. I believe they might be Aunt and Uncles of my Thomas. But some one has just put them in becasue the names fit, not the birth dates.
My Thomas Wells was born in 1790 and by census (NC) and the siblings listed in the James Wells 1810 Surry county, NC will are the siblings of Thomas. Thomas also married Mary Ann (Anny) Hoskins in Nelson county, Nov 26, 1809 and married Elizabeth Garrett Dec 10, 1838 in Williamson county, Tennessee. All documentated by census,wills
and marriage records.

Thomas's father was James Wells, but not James Wells of 1728 and
Mary Price. James Wells born 1750 maybe, married to Mary and
possibly Mary MOFFET/MOFFIT/MOFFAT. As the Moffiit's had several
marriages into the Wells families of Virginia. The James of the 1810 will may have been the James of 1750 and not 1728.
It is to bad that some genealogist have worked from the top down and not backwards, with documents. We all know how some have just stuck people into lines cause they fit. With all the James, Thomas, William's and etc we may never find out. But writings should only be used as guidelines, not fact.
Any light you might be able to shed would be most appreciated. I would like to say that if I have written this in an offending way, I did not mean too. It has been a long and hot day, and was excited at your email. Maybe when I look at this tomorrow morning, it may look different.. But even if you remove my children, the first three still do not make sense my their birth dates to be the children of James Wells and Mary Price. What do you think?
