JamesWells and Rachel Horn were my third great grandparents.Durnig a portion of the the Susannah was growing up in her parents' household.in Davie Co., her grandmother Susannah Wells Clifford lived in the same household. She was a member of that household when she died on 12 May 1863, when Susannah Clemintine Clifford was 15 years of age Susanna survived her husband Joseph Clifford 30 years dying in Davie Co on 12 May 1863" AE " I have found a record of a Rowan Co., NC marriage bond dated 15 April 1809 (less than a year before the execution of James Well's will) for the marriage of James Wells and Marey Graham. I think it is probable that this marriage was for the James Wells who died>in Surry Co., NC in 1810. One further reason for this belief is that one of the bondsmen for the marriage bond was Joseph Clifford, husband of James Wells' granddaughter, Susannah Wells. It is also noteworthy that the date of the marriage of James Wells and Marey Graham was the same date as the marriage of Joseph Clifford and Susannah Wells.

The bondsmen for the marriage of James Wells and Marey Graham were James Wells (prob his son) and Joseph Clifford who married Susannah Wells (granddaughter of James Wells) in Rowan Co. on 15 Apr 1809, the same day as the marriage of James Wells and Marey Graham.

Susanah who married Joseph Clifford, had three brothrs. John whose first wife was a Critenton, Second wife Irwin, William married Jane Clifford. Robbert married Amy Jones daughter of Josiah Jones. She had Two sishters. Elizabeth who married John Jones and Rebecca who married William Brogdon. Two half sisters Mary married William Eaton and Sarah married Ebed Jones. She had two half brothers. Francis Wells and James Wells."
Joseph CLIFFORD⁽¹⁵³⁾ was born about 1790.⁽¹⁹⁹⁾ SCCJ "Joseph Clifford, son of John Clifford and Rachel his wife married Susanah Wells, daughter of James Wllls and Rachel his wife, whose maiden name was Home. Grandmother Horn's maiden name was Moffet. She Rachel Wells was left a widow in early life. " He died on 23 Feb 1844 in Davie Co., NC..⁽¹⁹⁸⁾⁽¹⁹⁹⁾ A.E. " Joseph died in Davie Co. NC on 23 Feb 1844" Joseph Clifford is grandson of Michael Clifford (see separate story in the Heritage of Rowan County Susanah WELLS and Joseph CLIFFORD had the following children:
