THOMAS WELL(E)S Eld. Planter and Plantation owner, son of James and Mary Roades [DeedsKT C1:268, E:297, WillsKT H1:27] was born cir 1670 in Whorekill Hd. Sussex, Dl.[WellsHist 13]. He died 10 Sept 1732 in Kent Co. Dl. [WillsKT H1:27] He was a large land owner which included "Leason", (also known as "Sheppards Lott"), purchased in 1698 [DeedsKT C:251,DeedsKT C:252], "Wells Purchase", purchased in 1698 [DeedsKT C:217, DeedsKT G:60], sold 1729 [DeedsKT I:223 & I:224], "Virgin's Choice" sold in 1730 [DeedsKT K:49] and "Ellsworth" sold 1717; [DeedsKT E:296]. He lived in Murderkill Hd., Kent on a plantation called "Leason" located on Isaacs Branch of the St. Jones river, near the site of Camden Mills, Camden Dl. [WellsHist 13]. In his will he names his children Thomas, John, James, George, Henry, William, Patience, Ann, and wife Ann [WillsKT H1:27, WellsBul 281].
ANN Hart: Daughter of George Hart 1650-1702 and Naomi (_____), of unknown ancestry, [Wills KT B:45, Wells Bul. 281, WellsHist 13] married Thomas Wells Eld. about 1704 in Kent Co.[WillsKT H1:27, WellsBul 281], she was born cir.1678 in Kent and died after 1731 in Kent [WillsKT H1:27]
