In the Hamilton News, Feb. 9, 1940, "Harry Haines of Waterloo, spent several days last week with his daughter, Mrs. Harry Dirrim and family."

Buss and daughter of Waterloo, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dirrim and family."  Also, "Miss Wilmet Haines, Theron Haines and Miss Joy Ernest of Goshen, and Mr. and Mrs. Clark Shepherd of Ashley, were Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dirrim and family."

I didn't write down the date, but believe it was around June 1985, in the Hamilton News, says "DIRRIMS ARE JULY 4TH KING AND QUEEN CANDIDATES SPONSORED BY I.O.O.F.  Harry and Sue Dirrim are contestants for the 4th of July King and Queen Contest.  They are being sponsored by the Odd Fellows Lodge.  Harry Dirrim has lived in Hamilton for 82 years, has been a police officer for more than 35 years serving as Town Marshall, Deputy Sheriff, and Sheriff of Steuben County.  He belongs to the Christian Church, Knights of Phythias and Masonic Lodges.  Sue came to Hamilton after their marriage in Waterloo in 1932.  She belongs to the Christian church, Pythian Sisters and Rebekah Lodges.  The Dirrims are the parents of five children, Fred of Angola, Maida Kreischer and Linda Levy of Hamilton, Wilma Kyle of Jacksonville, Florida and Valta Doyle of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.  They have fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren."

This is a poem she wrote that was published in something (it was torn out of something and Clara McCague had it)
THE LAND WHERE LOST THINGS GO
 There's a long shady land
 And a sad, drowsy moon,
That sighs in a way that we know
It is sad for the things
 That our losing brings
To the land where lost things go.

 They travel the long land
 Of careless neglect
   Where the "I-forget" flowers grow,
Till they come to the nest
 Where our treasures rest,
In the land where lost things go.

 There are great golden hours
 And minutes, so rare,
And mem'ries of lost friends, you know:
 But they never come back
 When they've taken the track,
To the land where lost things go.

 They turn into fairies
 With hearts full of fun,
And on mischief they thrive and grow:
For they know they are free
And they laugh in high glee,
In the land where lost things go.
