Notes for Harvey Wells:
Harvey lived in Kentucky and then moved to Dayton, Ohio. He sang
songs on a Country Western station when he was younger. He lived
in Butler and worked as a grocery clerk for a while. He was Police
Chief of Waterloo, IN until 1971, when he died.
In a newspaper article it says "Harvey Wells of Butler Center says
wife admitted infidelity and told him of plans to wed another man."
A Butler Center grocery clerk Harvey Wells, who had trouble keeping his
wife at home, filed suit for divorce Wednesday in the DeKalb circuit court.
Three separation in three years was too much for the grocery clerk, who
said his wife left him May 5 to live in Dayton, Ohio. According to
the plaintiff, his wife first left him in March of 1946. She returned
home early in April of the same year, then left again May 6. This
time she stayed away several months, returning Christmas day of 1947.
She stayed home until their last separation. In his complaint, filed
through H. S. Grimm of Auburn, he alleged that his wife openly admitted
her infidelity and frequent associations with other men. She told
him, he claimed, that she was anxious to marry another. The couple
had one child, a 4 year old daughter, who is now in the custody of her
father. He seeks permanent custody of the little girl. The
couple were married June 24, 1945."
The closest town to where he grew up was Mt. Sterling, KY. He moved to Indiana, from Dayton, OH about 1941
On his delayed birth certificate, it says under additional information, "record - Menifee Co. - Myer's Fork School Dist.
Harvey sang on the Sunny Tennessee Radio Station.
