During the Reunion, June 7, 2009 alumni competed by reunion class to claim first, second, and third place medals. In the previous Reunion Row in 2004, the class of 1969 edged out'94, '59 and '99. Final times were 1969: 1:15.0, 1994: 1:16.5, 1959: 1:17.0 and 1999: 1:20.0. For details see elsewhere on this site. The competition began at 7:30 a.m.
The Challenge
The Row consisted of two heats, a qualifying heat and a final heat, using eight-man shells. Both heats begin at the near side of the Harvard Bridge and end at the far side of the boathouse pier. All boats compete with a handicap of 1.5 seconds for every five years out.
