Our Tillmans were in Upshur County, Texas by 1860. The Tillmans who were there at that time were Delilah Gage Tillman, Honor Tillman and her husband Charles Ballard, Green B. Tillman and his wife Adeline Underwood Tillman. They came to Texas from Alabama. Margaret Jemima "Maggie" Tillman and William Isaac Williams
The Wells family traveled from Clermont County, Ohio in 1820 to Marion County, Indiana by 1830. They were in Schuyler County, Illinois by 1840 and on to Missouri by 1850. They were Texas bound when they left Missouri. My direct line lived in Sherman, Grayson County, Texas for a while but they moved on to Brown County shortly after the 1880 Federal Census was taken. Nelson Oliver settled and died in Brown County, Texas. There are several descendants remaining in the county today. Descendants of Nelson Oliver Wells and Rachel A. Gray Descendants of Delbert Bazle Wells and Janette Adeline "Nettie" Malone Descendants of Winfred Wells and Marie Antoinette Martin
My Wheatley family were in Henderson County, Tennessee for the 1840 census. The area where they lived became Chester County when Henderson was divided in 1879. My 2nd great grandfather was apparently born in Henderson County, Tennessee and remained in that county until he left for Texas. They arrived in Ellis County, Texas between 1870 and 1880. Several descendants lived in Waxahachie all of their lives. Descendants of Pierce

My Martin line as far as I have been able to track back started with Shields B. Martin in South Carolina in 1830. His son Dickerson M. Martin or Dickinson M. Martin married Sarah Ann Francis Honea in South Carolina. They traveled with the Honea family first to Arkansas by 1870 and by 1900 were living in Brown County, Texas where they spent their remaining years. Descandant of Shields B. Martin and Cynthia Lumpkin / Cynthia Frumpkin
