Martha Ann Whiting (John1¹⁾  was born 08 Oct 1835 in Tamworth, Carroll, New Hampshire, and died 28 Jul 1927. She married William Bryant Clough, born 22 Apr 1828 in New Hampshire, and died 27 Jul 1905 in New Hampshire.

There are two other known children, but their names are not legible on the 1880 census record. They are a son, age 11 (birth year 1869) and a daughter, age 7 (birth year 1873). Further research on subsequent census records are needed to determine their names.
