Samuel Wickens was born 1758 he died on 4 Aug 1839 aged 81 years.I have yet to find a christening record for Samuel, but I know he was the son of William and Sarah Stapley because he is named in his fathers will and in Samuels will of 1839 he also states that he has Little Broad Reed which was given to him in his fathers will and also he states that his father was William Wickens.
He lived at Horsegrove, Rotherfield. Samuel married Sarah Luck in 1792 at parish church of St George in Southwark Surrey. She was the daughter of John Luck and Susanna Avis.
Sarah Luck died in 1808.
They had many children;

Harriet 1794 -1867 Married Humphrey Moon.
Thomas 1796 - 1872 married Ann Killick Vallance.
Mary 1798 � 1826 married William Noakes.

Sarah Dec 1808- 1851. Sarah married Oliver Rose.
Then Samuel married Susannah Browne in 1813at East Grinstead by marriage licence. Samuel and Susannah had no children.
They had many children. Cary 1814 � 1834,Charles 1817 � 1855 Henry 1818 � 1840 George 1820 - 1862, Harriet 1822 -1900, Georgina 1824, Samuel 1826 -1862, Susanna born 7 Aug 1828 died 10 Aug 1828 Fredrick Nimrod 1830 - 1909, Alexander 1831 - 1920, Julia Nancy 1833, Walter William born Nov 1835- 1910 he was Christened at Rotherfield April 1836.
Several of George and Mary's children emigrated to Australia and New Zealand.
Alexander married twice; first wife was Fanny Smith 1844 -1877 the marriage took place in 1865. His second wife was to Margaret Wenham they married in 1880.
He Lived at Great Stonebridge, Wadhurst Sussex, and later Round Oak, Wadhurst & Riverhall Wadhurst. The family later moved to East Peckham Kent to run a public house called Ashstead House.
He had many children, Flora b 1867, and Mary b 1868, Fanny b 1869, Alexander George b 1870 - 1882, Charles b 1873, Harry b 1872, Edith b 1876, Cary b 1881, Julia Agnes b 1882, Walter William b 1883 - 1963, Arthur Frederick b 1886 - 1917, Alexander 1891 -1924� Margaret May b 1894 - 1973, Kathleen b 1892.
