John Wooliscroft and his wife Elizabeth were living in Biggin in Wirksworth Parish, Derbyshire in between 1728 and 1733. Their children William and Elizabeth were buried at Wirksworth, Derbyshire this year. William was possibly born in Alton, Staffordshire in 1726 and Elizabeth was born in Atlow, Derbyshire the following year. Their first son to be called Thomas was buried at Wirksworth in 1731.
In 1733 the John and Elizabeth moved to Doveridge in Derbyshire with their children John, Mary and Martha where John had a settlement certificate.
John and Elizabeth’s second son to be called Thomas was baptised at Doveridge in 1733, followed by Joseph two years later. I think the family may have moved to Rocester, Staffordshire after leaving Doveridge where another son called Joseph was baptised in 1737.
I have not found a baptismal record for John & Elizabeth's son John or daughter Martha. However, I think his sister Mary may have be baptised at Alstonefield on the 23 April 1723. Martha may be the Martha buried in Alstonefield in 1735.
However, by a process of elimination I think that John is the brother of Thomas Wooliscroft of the City of London. After his wife's death he moved to Mappleton in Derbyshire where his son John was living in 1798.
