The format of the data contained in the index is: Name of Bride or Groom, Name of Spouse, Date of Birth, Color, Date of Marriage, Book Number, Page. For the 1816-1826 records, the format is Groom, Bride, License Date, person performing the marriage.

This is an ongoing project to provide an Orange County, Indiana, Marriage Index online.  The pages were scanned from the records at the Orange County Courthouse in Paoli, Indiana.  I have included the files as links.  You can either open the link or right click on the link and save the file to your hard drive. The file sizes are a bit too large to facilitate displaying them all here.  The table below shows the Page Number of the Index, the First Name listed as Bride or Groom on the page, and the Last Name listed as Bride or Groom on the page.  There are two records for each marriage, one beginning with the Groom and one with the Bride.  This project will take some time to complete.  New files will be added as I have them scanned and converted for viewing here.

About the Compiler

Note about the numbering of the filenames.  You may notice as you view images that the numbers restart.  This is done to maintain the page numbers used in the index binders at the courthouse.  You may also notice a year prefix in front of the page number.  That's to help the compiler keep all of the files straight.
