" In the name of God, Amen, the twentieth day of November in the tear of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and thirty two. I Benjamin King of Stafford, in the county of Hartford, and colony of Connecticut in New England, husbandman. Being at this time weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God therefor calling into mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die. Doe make and ordain this my last will and testament; that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it. And for my body I recommend it to the earth to be burred in a Christian like and decent manor at the desecration of my executors. Nothing doubting but at the General resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life.

I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form imprimis. I give and bequeath unto Rember my well beloved wife. Whom I likewise constitute make and ordain my only and sole executor of this my last will and testament, all my lands and moveable estate, all my household stuff cattle and tools and all my whole estate both real and personal. Ordering this my executor to pay all my debts out of my said estate and also to pay to my respective children as foloweth as they shall come of age. That is to say to my eldest son Benjamin 5 shillings, to my son Samuel 5 shillings, to my son Joseph 5 shilling, to my daughter Elizabeth 5 shillings, to my son Moses 5 shillings, to my daughter Mary 5 shillings, and all the remainder of said estate I leave with my executor, to be disposed of for the comfortable maintenance and support of my eldest daughter Agnes, which never hath had the use of her reason. For which cause I order this my Estate to be disposed of at the discretion of my Executor for the comfortable maintaince of my child Aggnis. And I do hereby order my Executor to have the advice of my well-esteemed friend Lieutenant John Huntington of Toaland in the disposal of said estate. And I doe hereby utterly disallow, revoke and disannul all and every other former testament; wills; and legacies bequests and executors by me in anyways before this time named."

The descendants of Benjamin King seamed to have lived in a corner or place where Longmeadow, East Longmeadow, and Wilbersham all in Mass. join Enfield and Sommers, CT. Somers was originally the East Parish of Enfield and was set off and incorporated July, 1734. East Longmeadow was set off from Longmeadow July 1,1794. Enfield and Sommers were in Mass. until May 1749. Stafford bounds Somers on the east To the South East of Somers is Ellington. The inhabitants of all these towns were practically neighbors. Removing from one town to another did not mean going far. Sometimes just building a new house on another part of the farm. Benjamin and some of his family were Baptists. The Colonial records of CT. Vol.X11, page 271 in a list of Baptists belonging to Enfield Church in May 1764 gives Benjamin and Benjamin King Jr. The fact that the family were Baptist renders it difficult at times to get exact dates of birth, marriages and deaths. The town was the orthodox Congregational Church and that church was the town. The consequence was that the Baptist had as little to do with the town as possible. If the law required it they had births recorded but in the lax loose methods of the days following the Rev. War little recording was done by any one and by Baptists practically none. Subsequent generations of the Benjamin King family seem to have returned to the congregational Church. On March 7, 1790 there was admitted to membership in the Enfield First Congregational Church 8 persons among whom were Benjamin King JR., Hulda King, and Rhoda King, grandchildren of Benjamin and Sarah [Pease] King. These three were baptized on the day they were admitted to communion, being of a family whose father was a Baptist. All his children were born in Enfield.
