James Blaine Baber (Jr.) Obituary

Madison, WI - James B. “Jim” Baber, 80, of Stockton, died Monday, June 9, 2008, at University Hospital in Madison, Wis.

Jim was born March 21, 1928, in Stockton, the son of James and Alice (Stephenson) Baber. He was a 1946 graduate of Stockton High School and graduated from the University of Dubuque in 1951.

He and Judith Downs were married Nov. 7, 1959 in Apple River.

Jim was an Air Force veteran, who served in the Korean War.

He worked in sales for many years, operating B&S Feeds and Pet Supplies and Crafts. He also sold livestock feed for several years and had farmed. Jim loved making clocks and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.

He was a member of the Plum River Masonic Lodge and a former Stockton School Board member.

He is survived by his wife, Judith (Downs) Baber; one daughter, Sally (Tom) Priola of Mount Horeb, Wis., four sons, Rick Baber of Lena, Greg (Lynn) Baber of Monmouth, Todd (Kim) Baber of Stockton and Andrew (Jodie) Baber of Mount Horeb, Wis. He also is survived by one sister, Charlene Huso of Stockton and nine grandchildren; Ashley, Jarret, Jacob, Natalie, Wyatt, Kamden, Willie Baber and Maggie and Matthew Priola.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Hermann Funeral Home, followed by a 7 p.m. memorial service with the Rev. Michael Jones officiating.

A memorial fund has been established.
