~Civil War Letters~         

The following are transcriptions of Civil War letters that were written either to or by members of the Thompson family.  All italicized words  are my comments or guesses. These letters are now updated and include parts that were previously missing due to illegible scans.

There are two ways to view all 36 of the Civil War letters. You can view them all in chronological order, or by author in chronological order.  I have also included letters from her soon-to-be husband, William Spratt, although he was not at war but in medical school.
