291. Martha (Patty)6 Calef (Dr John5, Robert4, Mary3 Ayer, Cornet Peter2, Capt John1 Ayers) (#1219) was born in Brooksville, Hancock, ME 18 Oct 1768.(1044) poss b 29 Oct 1771 (Wentworth Families, Bangor Hist Mag 4:241).

Martha (Patty) was of Buckstown (Orrington Recs 1:182); some sources say Brookfield, Maine; however, there has never been a Brookfield, Maine (sometimes confused with Brooksville, Hancock, ME). Martha died 5 Aug 1853 in Pembroke, Washington, ME, at 84 years of age.(1045) at dtr Nancy's house

She married William Wentworth in Orrington, Penobscot, ME, 6 Aug 1789.(1046) (William Wentworth is #1215.) William was born 19 May 1763 in South Orrington, Penobscot, ME.(1047) William was the son of Sol Moses Wentworth and Judith Grant. William died 10 May 1845 in Perry, Washington, ME, at 81 years of age.(1048) He resided in ME c1791/2.(1049) in Frankfort, Castine, and Perry, ME

He resided in Frankfort, Waldo, ME bef 1818.(1050) He resided in Perry, Washington, ME 1818.(1051) Abstract from ME Fams in 1790, J.C. Anderson, 7:548:

William, b 19 May 1763; d Perry 10 May 1845 (Wentworth Gen 2:414); m Orrington 6 Aug 1789 Martha/Patty Calef of Buckstown, b 18 Oct 1768 (Wentworth Gen, 2:414) or 29 Oct 1771 (Wentworth Families BHM 4:241) reportedly d/o John Calef of Brooksville (Wentworth Gen 2:414, d "at the house of her daughter Mrs. Nancy Smith, at Pembroke" 10 May 1845 (ibid). They lived in Frankfort, Castine, and Perry ("Wentworth Fam" BHM 4:241).

(Note: Patty prob was not a dau of Dr. John Calef, the famous Loyalist of Castine, as his will, dated St. Andrews NB 6 May 1811 names no dau Martha/Patty (R. Wallace Hale, Early New Brunswick Probate Records 1785-1835 (1989) pp 62-63). Abstract from ME Fams in 1790, J.C. Anderson, 7:548:
