He " III. Thomas Brownell bapt June 5, 1708 in Rawmarsh Church, Rawmarsh,

Yorks, England. He m March 20, 1637 Ann Bourne at St. Bennett &

St. Peter's at Paul's Wharf, London. He came to American and

settled at Little Compton, Rhode Island first; then moved to

Braintree (Mt. Wollaston) Mass. by 1640. He sold his house &

land there to Deodatus Curtis (Lechford Notebook) and moved to

Portsmouth, Rhode Island by 1644. Thomas was killed when his head

hit a tree while in a horse race with David Lawton.

He was commissioner in 1655-61-62-63. He sold 35 acres to Thomas Lawton Apl. 4, 1658; was deputy in 1664. Ann Brownell, his widow and executrix, exchanged land with William Brenton Nov. 6, 1665, fulfilling contract made by her husband before his decease.
