NON-RELATED NORTON FAMILIES
Burton on Trent, Stapenhill & South Derbyshire
In the course of my research I have become aware of a number of other NORTON families which are, as far as I can ascertain, unrelated to mine. There is always a chance, however, that there may be an earlier connection, so if you can find a link, please contact me. Apart from the first two pair of families, there is no known family connection between any of these groups.
The first two family groups are a father and son living in Darley Abbey, Derby. While I know of no connection to my family at this stage, the children's names are remarkably similar to those used in my own family. I would not be surprised to find a connection.
The second pair of group sheets represent the families of two brothers who appear to have arrived in Burton on Trent around the 1860s - 1870s. They were sons of Joseph NORTON, Labourer, and Sarah GREENFIELD, who married on 6 April 1841, in Church Aston, Salop. (These two families use names which are notably similar to those used in my NORTON family).
Certificate Transcriptions
Do you have any certificates, for NORTONs of South Derbyshire, Derby or Burton on Trent, which you are willing to share? If so, please would you send me the full details. I'd be delighted to add them to this site.
