38. Hiram BIRD was born on 19 Apr 1844 in Pennsylvania.⁴⁴ He died on 2 Aug 1890 in Riverside, Northumberland Co, PA. He was buried in Hendrickson's United Methodist Church Cemetery, Valley Twp, Montour Co, PA. He served in the military 7/1863 - 7/1868.⁴⁵ Uncle Ralph said that Clara and her family would walk from Riverside to Hendrickson's Methodist Church for Sunday services. This is probably about a 10 mile distance? He recalled placing flowers on Hiram's grave site on holidays.

Hiram is listed as receiving Distinguished Service honors upon discharge from the Union Army. He was also listed as a POW.

looked through some messages at genealogy.com - several confirmed that he was probably from the James Bird family. but I still missing a generation. keep looking!

39. Martha Jane was born in 1854 in Pennsylvania. She died in 1901 in Pennsylvania. Children were:

Sarah R (Sallie) BIRD was born in Jan 1882 in Pennsylvania.⁴⁶ She died in 1955 in Bloomsburg, Columbia Co, PA. She was also known as Sallie.
