Thirteenth Generation


6912. Francious LESURIER emigrated in 1659 from France. He lived Kingston, NY. These are the American ancestors of the Lesher family. This branch of the family were Huguenots and held prominent positions. They were Masters of Horse in the king's bodyguard and held their positions until the persecutions became so fierce they had to flee. They belonged to the Reformed Church and when the Catholics won in the Religious War, they who were Protestants were accused of plotting against the King and had to flee for their lives. They escaped to Holland and with the DuPonts (later of Philadelphia and New Jersey) came to this country.
After the death of King Louis Jean, Francious' son and his brother were allowed to return to France to settle their estate and came back very wealthy.
