This is the front of a postcard among one postcard and 7 letters found folded and tucked amid a bible that was once Eliza Burdick's and then probably her daughter, Cora Burdick's. The letters are not dated and it is not known in which order they were written.

Dear Sister Cora,              Love, Emily
I rec. your letter, was real glad for all you wrote Hilda has not wrote to me since befour her visit to Hornell. I wish she would I will want her address to send the Xmas packages [ well ] I just [tacketed] Mrs. O. about Xmas I told her it was so much better to name over some of the thing she would like and she said well there is one thing I would like and that is one of those long pocket books to carry in your hand with a strap to put the hand in so I felt I would write now and tell you it is not very often she will tell any thing the lot must look real nice the way you have it done --
