He is listed in the 1900 census as Patrick Karr. No one in the family knows why he changed his name to Thomas Hughey. He was adopted by a young couple in Jefferson, Marion, Texas. He lived with them for about 2-3 years. They were killed in a runaway buggy accident. He then returned to live with his other brothers and sisters who were residing with the Joseph Custer family.

Mrs. Fannie L. Karr, of Route 1, De Soto, Texas, passed away on July 26. Funeral services were held on Monday, July 29, in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel in Dallas, with the Rev. Martin Spell officiating.
She is survived by her husband, T.H. Karr, Sr., De Soto; daughters, Mrs. Charlene Fowler, Azle, Texas, Mrs. Mary E. Chouinard, Dallas; sons, C.W. Karr, Abilene, T.H. Karr, Jr.; Dallas, W.L. Karr, Garland; fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Addie Efurd, Pittsburgh.
Interment was in Laurel Land.

AZLE - Charline Harris Fowler, 88, a retired food services dietitian, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at an Azle nursing home.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Saturday at Ash Creek Baptist Church in Azle. Burial: Ash Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home in Azle.
Charline Harris Fowler was born Jan. 1, 1914, in Pittsburg to Fannilue Thomas Karr and A.P. Harris. She was married to Roy C. Fowler on April 14, 1934, in Azle, where they lived, worked, participated in church and community activities, and raised their family. She was a member of Ash Creek Baptist Church for over 68 years where she participated in WMU, choir and various committees and taught Sunday School. Charline served as treasurer for many years of the Gibson Rebekah Lodge No. 460. She worked in food services over 21 years as a dietitian for the Azle Community Hospital, retiring in 1982.
Mrs. Fowler was preceded in death by her parents, Fannilue and Thomas Karr; daughter, Wilma Fowler Cook; husband of 46 years, Roy C. Fowler; brothers, Lawrence Karr and Bill Karr; and sister Mary Chouinard.
Survivors: Sons, Robert E. Fowler and wife, Martha, and Tommy L. Fowler and wife, Kathy; son-in-law, Roger Cook and wife, Donna; brother, Thomas Karr and wife, Maxine; sisters-in-law, Lucy Fowler-Pelan, Isabell Fowler, Bessie Karr and Colleen Karr; grandchildren, Paula Ferstl and husband, John, David Fowler, Gary Fowler and wife, Hope, and Cortlan Fowler and wife, Kimberly; and great-grandchildren, Dustin Ferstl, Lauren Fowler, Cullin Fowler and Johnny Fowler.

Charline Harris Fowler was born Jan. 1, 1914, in Pittsburg to Fannilue Thomas Karr and A.P. Harris. She was married to Roy C. Fowler on April 14, 1934, in Azle, where they lived, worked, participated in church and community activities, and raised their family. She was a member of Ash Creek Baptist Church for over 68 years where she participated in WMU, choir and various committees and taught Sunday School. Charline served as treasurer for many years of the Gibson Rebekah Lodge No. 460. She worked in food services over 21 years as a dietitian for the Azle Community Hospital, retiring in 1982.
Mrs. Fowler was preceded in death by her parents, Fannilue and Thomas Karr; daughter, Wilma Fowler Cook; husband of 46 years, Roy C. Fowler; brothers, Lawrence Karr and Bill Karr; and sister Mary Chouinard.
Survivors: Sons, Robert E. Fowler and wife, Martha, and Tommy L. Fowler and wife, Kathy; son-in-law, Roger Cook and wife, Donna; brother, Thomas Karr and wife, Maxine; sisters-in-law, Lucy Fowler-Pelan, Isabell Fowler, Bessie Karr and Colleen Karr; grandchildren, Paula Ferstl and husband, John, David Fowler, Gary Fowler and wife, Hope, and Cortlan Fowler and wife, Kimberly; and great-grandchildren, Dustin Ferstl, Lauren Fowler, Cullin Fowler and Johnny Fowler.
