Emma G. Millslagle was born in May 1874 in Washington County, Ohio.^1,2 She was the daughter of Jacob Millslagle and Rhoda (?).³ Emma moved with her parents to West Virginia between 1876 and 1878.⁴ Emma, age 7, was enumerated in the household of her parents on the 1880 Federal Census in Jefferson District, Pleasants County, West Virginia. Emma married Grover P. Noland on 14 June 1908 in Pleasants County, West Virginia. He was 24 and she was 34.⁶
