Nellie Price was born circa 1865 in Michigan.² She was the daughter of Nelson Price and Mary Millslagle.³ In circa 1876, Nellie lived with her parents in Rienzi, Sangamon County, Illinois.³ Nellie, age 15, was enumerated in the household of her parents on the 1880 Federal Census in Cotton Hill, Sangamon County, Illinois. She attends school but is marked for not being able to read.⁴ Follow the link to see the census image. Nellie married John W. Hardgrove on 5 June 1884 in Sangamon County, Illinois.¹ She is the 2nd great-granddaughter of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel, original immigrant.
