The caption reads: Plate No. 17 Pieter Dalenberg Home. Dalenberg's home was located at approximately 11039 S. Michigan Avenue. As we look at the house in about 1870 we are facing approximately east-southeast. Were any portions (i.e. east end) of Hamilton Lopp's one stone house, (presumably purchased by Dalenberg when he acquired his Lopp's barn in 1850) still in existence when this photograph was taken? The two story addition was built sometime in the 1860's. Ed. Note: For orientation purposes; long wise the house is facing north, the four windows on the west side are facing Michigan Avenue.
