Charles Franklin Coats
On the 1880 Cherokee Census for the residents of the Cherokee Nation itshows Charles as 6 years of age which would have made him born in 1874.Charles is buried with his wife Maggie in the Bluejacket Cemetery, Section 3. This cemetery was established on Chief Charles Bluejacket's land by the family. Some of the monuments show burials in the 1880's although burials mayhave been even earlier. Although begun as a Shawnee cemetery, it later became oneof general use. Here only the areaencompassing the older part of thecememtery is shown. The location is section 28, r21E, t27N, in Craig County,Oklahoma. Cousin of Charels Wlliam Lee Craig married sister of Charles' wife Maggie Horton.
