Delbert E. Rarric, Sr.
Delbert E. Rarric, Sr., age 75, passed away Sunday morning after a lengthy illness. Born a son of the late William and Nancy Van Vooris Rarric, he was a life resident of the area. He retired in 1973 from Stark Ceramics after 16 years service where he drilled coal. Survived by his wife, Edna Rarric, with whom he would have celebrated their 51st Wedding Anniversary on October 22nd; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and William Critchfield, of East Sparta, and Cheryl and Donald Hole, of Manteo, NC; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Delbert Rarric, Jr. and David and Caroline Rarric, all of Macon, GA, and Ronald Rarric, of Magnolia; two sisters; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia, with Pastor Matthew A. Diehl officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service, from 12-1 p.m. in the funeral home. According to his wishes, following the services Mr. Rarric will be cremated.

LYONS ­ Robert E. Spielman, 62, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at his residence in Lyons.

He was born Feb. 22, 1947, in Beloit, the son of Hubert M. and Ruth E. Becker Spielman. He graduated from Simpson High School in Simpson, received an Associates Degree from York College, York, Neb., and a Bachelors degree from Kansas State University.

He married Sheila Needham in Abilene on Oct. 4, 1969.

He moved to Lyons in 1974. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Lyons, the Rotary Club where he was a Paul Harris Fellow, AICPA, KSCPA, past president and member of USD 405 School Board, Silver Maple Camp Board, past Lyons Chamber of Commerce board member, and a former member of the Board of Trustees at York College.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila of the home; two daughters, Shaeley Santiago and husband Anthony of Ames, Ia., Junessa Dodds and husband Kevin of Colorado Springs, Colo; a sister, Barbara Axtell and husband Charles of Beloit; his mother-in-law, Billie Needham of Abilene; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Carol Needham, Loyd and Carol Needham, both of Abilene, Scot and Dayna Needham of McPherson, Wade and Lola Needham, Sandy and Rod Paulson, both of Abilene, Phil and Shelley Needham of Freeman, Mo; four grandchildren, Malkan and Kaysia Santiago, Isaac and Hosea Dodds.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 7 at the Church of Christ in Lyons with Elton Albright, Robert Taverner, and Ivy Conner officiating.
Burial will take place in Lyons Municipal Cemetery in Lyons.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 6 at Birzer Funeral Home in Lyons with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Silver Maple Camp, Lyons Rotary Club or Rotary International and sent in care of Birzer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 89, Lyons, KS 67554.

      Alta Mae Rayner was born on 23-Nov-1929 at Grant, Custer County, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Francis Allen Rayner and Mabel Jewel Hall. Alta married Norman R. Monroe, son of John Wesley Monroe and Jewel Cordelia Walker, on 10-Feb-1951 at Clinton, Custer County, Oklahoma. Alta Mae Rayner died on 6-Jun-2003 at age 73.

Alta M. Sauerman

Funeral for Alta M. Sauerman, 73, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday
at Liberty Heights Christian Church with the Rev. Charles Pettigrew,
pastor, officiating.

Mrs. Sauerman died Friday, June 6, 2003, at her home.

Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under direction of Becker Funeral
Home.

She was born Nov. 23, 1929, in rural Custer City to Francis and Mable
Jewel Rayner. She graduated from Arapaho High School in 1948. She
married Norman R. Monroe on Feb. 10, 1951, in Clinton. He died July
22, 1963. She married James G. Sauerman on May 13, 1966, in the
Methodist church in Waurika. Mrs. Sauerman was employed at Cameron
University for four years. She later graduated from Southwestern
State University, Weatherford, with a degree in elementary education
in 1965. She taught at Taft Elementary School in Lawton for two
years, then taught at Wilson Elementary School until 1993 when she
retired. She was a member of Liberty Heights Christian Church for 43
years, serving as deacon, elder, Sunday school teacher and Sunday
school superintendent. She taught in Vacation Bible School, served on
many committees, sang in the choir, searched for ministers, and other
duties as required. She was an active member of the Gamma Mu Conclave
of Kappa Kappa Iota Teachers Sorority for 20 years. She held all
offices and was president in 2002-2003.

Survivors include her husband; of the home; a son, Felix L. Monroe,
Lawton; two daughters: Jennifer A. Hubbard and husband David, Lawton;
and Julie Lawrence and husband Rickey, Ardmore; two brothers: Ira
Rayner and wife Mary, Don Rayner and wife RoeAnn, all of Clinton;
three sisters: Marie Watson, Antioch, Calif., Betty Towner and
husband John, Lawrence, Kan; Bonnie Clinkingbeard and husband Wayne,
Leavenworth, Kan; four grandchildren: Parker Green, Haleigh Green,
Chris Lawrence and Tyler Lawrence, Ardmore; a former son-in-law,
Gerald Green, Ardmore; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Benjamin,
Ray and Keith Rayner, Antioch, Calif; and a sister, Beulah, Custer
City.

Foundation for Cancer Research, 825 NE 13th Street; Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma 73104-5046.

Bonnie Jewel Rayner
      Bonnie Jewel Rayner was born on 12-Mar-1934 at Grant, Custer County, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Francis Allen Rayner and Mabel Jewel Hall. Bonnie Jewel Rayner died on 7-Sep-2006 at age 72. Bonnie was buried at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Crawford County, Kansas.
     

Bonnie was the youngest child of Francis and Mabel Rayner. She married Franklin DuWayne Clinkingbeard at Fort Sill, Oklahoma on Sept. 6, 1956. Bonnie was a teacher and retired in 1995 after 28.5 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
She leaves her husband of 50 years, three sons and their wives: Byron and Karen, Baton Rouge, LA; Gregory and Diann, Prairie Village, KS; and Charles Bradley and Laurie, Lake Geneva, Wis. She is survived by seven grandchildren: Courtney, Maxwell, Claire, Grant, Chandler, Cameron and Bodie.
Also surviving her are two brothers Ira and Don Rayner and two sisters Marie watson and Betty Towner.
Bonnie enjoyed some traveling, reading, spending time with her family, scrapbooking, crosstitching and watching KU basketball.
She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother.
And she will be missed by many.
