Funeral services for J.P. Jones, 82, of Comanche, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21 at Comanche Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Stag Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Jones died Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.

He was born Dec. 19, 1921, in Gap, to John Powell Jones and Dora McDaniel Jones. On Oct. 20, 1945, he was married to Kay Domeyer in Mount Pleasant, Mich. She preceded him in death. He later was married to Maxine White in Sidney.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Ceril "Doc" Jones.

He is survived by his wife Maxine Jones of Dallas; three sons, Greg Jones and wife Barbara of Denver, Colo., Curtis Jones and wife Melanie of Allen and David Jones and wife Brenda of Arvada, Colo; one daughter Patricia Helland of Anna; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Nita Reese and husband Lee of Comanche; brother Brenton Jones and wife Juanita of Covina, Calif; and sister-in-law Bernice Jones of Emmett, Idaho.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

      Kay Domeyer was born on 5-Apr-1923 at Germany. Kay married John Powell Jones 3rd, son of John Powell Jones Jr. and Dora Ivy McDaniel, on 20-Oct-1945 at Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan. Kay Domeyer died on 3-Apr-1988 at Gainesville, Cooke County, Texas, at age 64. Kay was buried at Lake Kiowa, Texas.

     Gregory Scott Jones was the son of John Powell Jones 3rd and Kay Domeyer.

     Patricia (Patty) Jones was the daughter of John Powell Jones 3rd and Kay Domeyer. Patricia married Phillip Holland.

     Curtis Jones was the son of John Powell Jones 3rd and Kay Domeyer.

     David Jones was the son of John Powell Jones 3rd and Kay Domeyer.

      Heather Ann Glasgow was born on 18-Jan-1975 at Stephenville, Erath County, Texas. She died on 24-May-1975 at Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. Heather was buried at Stephenville, Erath County, Texas.

      Onie Oleane Reece was born on 27-Jan-1905. She was the daughter of Edward A. Reece and Lillie M. Jones. Onie Oleane Reece died on 15-Apr-1906 at age 1. Onie was buried at Stag Creek, Comanche County, Texas.
