Kimberly Cemetery, Murfreesboro, Pike County, Arkansas

Since I received this information, the cemetery has experienced restoration thanks to Jim Smedley and the hard work and time he has dedicated to it. It's a shame that some people have such disregard for hallowed ground - the headstones from this cemetery were thrown into a creek at one time and cows were allowed to graze over the land.

I am copying this information from notes I received through another family member. Some of these people were my ancestors. I am posting out of respect to their memory and in the hope it will help another researcher.

The Forgotten Souls

The forgotten People that no one remembers and no one cares. They were someone's Mother, Father, Brother, Sister, or Child.

The cemetery was completely grown up in trees, bushes, and briars. A man could hardly walk through it. Many marble or granite headstones with names and dates with trees growing right out of the graves. It is now completely cleaned up and in pasture land. The monuments completely gone, I know not where.

The first one was buried there 144 years ago. The last one buried there 108 years ago.

God only remembers their Souls.

May they rest in peace.
