In dei nomine Amen. The xth day of December in the yere of our Lord god one thowsand six hundred and ten. I John Butler of Cleobury Mortimer int the dioces of Hereford, yeoman, beinge sicke in bodye, butnof good remembraunce, I give god prayse, doe ordaine and make this my last will & Testamente in manner and forme followinge, viz. First I bequeethe my Sowle to Almightie god my maker, And to Jesus Christ my redeemer and Saviour, and my bodye to Christian byryall
Item I give and bequeethe to Elynor Butler my wief, my horse
Item I give to my said wief all such goodes and howsehold stuffe which came up to this howse, beinge the signe of the Angell, and doth here remaine at the makinge hereof
Item I doe give to my daughter Bridgett Butler my paire of Aundirons, and my said wief to have the use of them duringe her naturall lyef Item I give to my sonne John Butler one drippinge panne, and my wief to have the use of him in like sorte, but my will is if ahe chaunce to marrie or goe out of Countree, That then she to deliver them to my said sonne and daughter presently,
Item I give to my said wief my Table boorde with the frame whereon he standeth in the hall howse at the Lyon with a Joynde bedd in the soller over the hall
Item I give to Johan Clerke the other bedd in the same soller
Likewise I give to James Butler my sonnes sonne my Table with the frame in the Parlour at the Lyon
Item I give to Elizabeth Butler my sonne James Butler's daughter one featherbedde which I have at the Lyon
Item I have at the Lyon, in the Chamber over the hall, one Table boorde with a frame, And an other table boorde in the new Chamber with two bedsteedes in the same Chamber, with all my other tymber and boordes that is moveable in or aboute the howse at the Lyon
All which thinges last named, my will is, that Johan Butler my daughter in lawe shall have, in Condition that she shall pay my herryott due to the Lord after my decease, but yf she will not pay the said herriott, then my will is that my executor shall have it and soe to be sold by her to pay the said herriott, And I doe nominate and appoynte to the said Elynor Butler my wief to be my lawfull executrix to fulfill this my last will and Testament
Witnesses hereunto, William Marston Clerke John Awyer and Thomas Crundall
These are debtes due to mee the Testator of my daughter in lawe Johan Butler �v vjs viijd to be paid xls at the Annuntiacion of Mary next ensuinge, And also �iij at that day twelve monethe
