James Trenaman [T-7x-ggp]

Placing James b 1658 as son of James b 1628 looks good BUT as the baptist record does not give mothers name as yet not proved

Narrative

Notes: Anne Trenoman, daughter of Phillip Trenoman, was baptised 25 November 1690 South Hill, Cornwall.
A Phillip Trenaman was baptised 28 February 1653 Menheniott and a James Trenaman was baptised 2 November 1658 Menheniott, both being sons of a James Trenaman.
Phillip Trenaman married Jane Hingsen on 25 May 1682 Menheniott.
It may be that James Trenaman (father of James b.1690 and William b.1692 North Petherwin) was born in Menheniott and was a brother of Phillip, their father being James Trenaman, baptised 4 May 1628 Menheniott, son of John Trenaman

Narrative

Ancestors above William Trenaman 1720/21 could be wrong
Neil Trenaman has William [b 1720/1] as :- born 1703
William's / James father as Nathaniel Trinnaman b.1664 at Okehampton. Okehampton being 7 miles from Hatherleigh where Willam b.1703 married Joan Sitten in 1745.
I appreciate there is an age difference between them but that is not that unusual.
Nathaniel married Mary Avery at Okehampton.
His parents were John Trinnaman b. around 1630 and Mary Culme, b.1642.
As you probably know the first recorded Trenamans came from St Mellion/Pillaton area in Cornwall but unfortunately I have been unable to prove a link from the 1500's to the John T.
I believe to be my 7 x ggf.
.
[There is a William Trenaman married Catharine Batt on 03 Jun 1745 at Okehampton,Devon. Les T]
.
I find it very interesting that you have also gone back to North Petherwin with the Trenamans.
I was lucky with this because my ancestor Catherine Ellacott was born in North Petherwin and married John Ellacott of Hatherleigh there on lst January 1765 - quite some distance to travel in those days.
I think they also must have been cousins. John Ellacott was the son of George Ellacott and Jane Hatch/Hacche of Hatherleigh, but to date I have not found their baptisms.
Following Jane's death George Ellacott married Ann Medland on 5 Jan 1772 Hatherleigh.
I am wondering if the Trenamans and Ellacotts of North Petherwin were connected, perhaps via the Hockin/Hawking family, especially with Thomas Ellacott (grandson of Catherine) marrying Elizabeth Trenaman.
