Mary A. Dent was born 08 August 1793 in Lincolnshire, England, “in the old castle with it’s moat and drawbridge” that was the “home of her ancesters for centeries” (per Mumford’s History of Delaware County 1880)NOTE: No one has located this yet…) She was sent to boarding school in Cincinnatus, Cortland Co., NY. She married Dr. Gardiner Westcott (born 05 May 1788 in Ballston springs, Saratoga Co., NY died 19 Aug 1862. She died 4 December 1889.

New Information:
Well, the mystery has been solved when I went to Maltby le Marsh, Lincolnshire Dec 2003 and found where she was born. It was in the town Manor House and I will send a picture. There is a moat around the place. (but no drawbridge!) Mumford's description helped me find it as after I found a map of Lincolnshire showing moats in Maltby I decided on a trip to see for myself.211
