Johann Mattik

Johann Mattik

JOHANN MATTIK was a shepherd of Casimirshof, Pommern.

He is known to us only indirectly through the marriage of his daughter Henriette Sophie Elisabeth in 1819. On her marriage record in Wurchow, she is referred to as the daughter of Johann Mattik, schäfer of Casimirshof. That he is the father of the other Mattiks in the list below is also a supposition, based on the appearance of Henriette Sophie as a godparent to one of Christian Gottlieb's children and the fact that the other Mattiks also appear as godparents to one another's children. The small size of the Mattik family in these parishes makes the relationship quite likely. (The Mattiks listed below account for all Mattik records found in this area.)

Children of Johann Mattik of Casimirshof :

1. JOHANN MATTIK, b. circa 1777; d. before 1861; married at Persanzig, 1 Dec 1813, HENRIETTE LOUISE ROSENOW, who was born circa 1790 and died at Sparsee, 13 Jan 1870, age 78 years, 6 months, leaving 7 adult children. Johann was listed on his marriage record as a freimann of Sparsee.

2. CHRISTIAN GOTTLIEB MATTIK, b. circa 1778; d. at Sparsee, 17 May 1854; m. at Sparsee, 15 Nov 1811, DOROTHEE JULIANE CAROLINE PÖPPEL.

3. LUDWIG MATTIK, b. circa 1792; m. at Sparsee, 15 Mar 1816, MARIA ELISABETH MIELKE, who was born circa 1786. At the time of their marriage, he was described as a resident of Sparsee, but by the birth of Charlotte in 1822, he was called a schäfer (shepherd) of Wurchow.

4. HENRIETTE SOPHIE ELISABETH MATTIK, b. circa 1794; m. at Wurchow, 30 Apr 1819, CARL WILHELM REINKE, pachter of Ludwigs..., who was born circa 1795.
