Christian Gottlieb Mattik

Christian Gottlieb Mattik

CHRISTIAN GOTTLIEB MATTIK was born circa 1778 or 1781, and died at Sparsee, 17 May 1854. His age at death is listed as 73, and he is stated at that time to be survived by 4 children. He was probably a son of Johann Mattik of Casimirshof.

He was married at Sparsee, 15 Nov 1811, to DOROTHEE JULIANE CAROLINE PPPEL, who was born 24 May 1786, probably daughter of Gottlieb Pöppel and Eleonore Sophie Kopiske. She died at Sparsee, 21 Aug 1848. Her age at death is listed as 62 years, 2 months and 27 days, the source of the given date of birth.

While his age at death would imply that Christian was born circa 1781, his age at marriage is given as 33, leaving some uncertainty as to which is the better estimate.

Dorothee had had one child before her marriage to Christian Mattik, as indicated below.

Christian was a shepherd, and resided in Sparsee.
