FAIRY HISTORY OF 1935-36 SOPHOMORE CLASS

Although our class is not large in number at the present time, we are doing our best in trying to make our class appear as one of the best in Fairy High School. A large percent of our class has attended school at Fairy ever since they started, others entering only a few years later.

Our class at the present time includes the following students: Tommie Joe Allison, J. N. Pitts, Andrew Duncan, Gerald Clayton, Wynell Blacklock, Geraldine Brummett, Ruth Trimmier, Ruth Trantham, Margie Lee Hutton, Lucille Herricks, Robert Hutton Jr., Braxton Edington, C. D. Freeman, Osborn Garner, Billie Bridges, Crockett Slater, Allen Gossett, and Sam Battershell.

J.  N. Pitts, Tommie Joe Allison, Ruth Trantham and Andrew Duncan are the only students in our class that have gone to school at Fairy ever since they entered school.

Wynell Blacklock started to school at Percival; before the term was finished she entered Hico School, where she went one year. She started to school at Agee in the second grade, where she went two years. From there she came to school at Fairy when she was in the fourth grade and has attended here ever since.

Geraldine Brummett started to school at Hico and went one year. She entered Fairy in the second grade, where she is still going.

Ruth Triemmier started to school at Spring Creek Gap, where she attended school five years. She entered Fairy school in the sixth grade, where she is still attending school.

Osborn Garner started to school at Eidson, where he went one year. His second year he entered Gum Branch School, where he went until he entered Fairy school in the ninth grade, and we are proud to have him our class.

Gerald Clayton started to school at Shive; where he went one year. His second year he entered Lamkin school, where he went until he started to school at Hamilton his fifth year. His sixth year he came to Fairy school, where he is still going.

Robert Hutton Jr. started to school at Breckenridge, where he went one year, from there he went to school at Cicso, and Farmersville , La., in one term. Next year he went to Woodsville, Miss., and Pampa, Texas.  From there he came to Fairy, where he is now in the sophomore class.

Sam Battershell started to school at Live Oak, where he went two years. He then attended Hico School one and a half terms. Before that term was finished at Hico he came to Fairy.

C. D. Freeman attended school at Percival, Mt. Pleasant, and Cranfills Gap before coming to Fairy three years ago.

Crockett Slater started to school at Mt. Pleasant, where he went to school until he started to school at Fairy in the eighth grade.

Braxton Edington went to school at Snyder, Breckenridge, Lubbock and Mt. Pleasant before entering Fairy school in the 8th grade.

Billie O. Bridges started to school at Agee, where he went one year; from there he came to Fairy, where he attended school seven years, the next year being his ninth year, he went to school at Cranfills Gap. This year we are glad to have him back in our class.

Margie Lee Hutton started to school at Long Point, and went there two years; from there she came to Fairy, and she is now in the eight and ninth grades.

Lucille Herricks started to school at Fairy, where she went three years. The next term she started to Old Hico and went there three months. She then came back to Fairy, where she is now in the eighth and ninth grades.

Allen Gossett started to school at Connell, where he went about two months and then started at Himan. The next year he went to school at Shive. In the third grade he started to school at Old Hico, where he went until he had finished the sixth grade. He then came to Fairy school.

Our class was very unfortunate this term when we lost one of our old “pals,” Dorothy Mae Edmondson, after she was married to Richard Ham. She now makes her home in Austin.
