NEW PROVIDENCE BAPTIST CHURCH1877--1893 New Providence Baptist Church was located between Evant and Star Mountain in Hamilton County. Sometimes the address of this church was identified as Cove, while at other times it was Star Mountain. This church was one of the founding members of the Hamilton County Baptist Association on 4 July, 1877, at Cottonwood Springs. This church was excluded from this association on 20 August, 1893 for un-Christian conduct and heresy. Some of the pastors were: D. I. Haralson, 1878--1879, 1881, 1883, 1888 D. J.
