Biography

He had a tannery on thee south side of Bolton on thee Old Marlborough road on thee east branch of Wataquadock Brook, a few rods west of the Garrison house. He bought 12 1/4 acres of land from Levi and Betsey Moore in 1802 along with 1/2 the house on that land. In the deed at that time there was no tanyard mentioned. In 1806, he purchased a partly finiished currying shop from Ebenezer Bridge of Harvard. Josiah it to his own land and used it as a tanhouse for many years.³
