Notable Houghton

     Notable Houghton: After the war, he remained in Europe with the Occupation Forces, and was assigned to a military intelligence unit in Vienna. His work included identifying and locating suspected Nazi war criminals, and he helped capture a number of Nazis attempting to flee Europe.

He was later transferred to the American section of the Landsberg Prison in Augsburg, Germany, the execution site for Dachau war criminals and the prison in which Adolph Hitler had written his book "Mein Kampf." Mr. Houghton's job was debriefing and recording the works of Dachau Commandant Martin Weiss, among others. in 1943.
