LINCOLN - David L. Houghton, 80, of Lincoln died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at Christian Village in Lincoln.

He was born Feb. 21, 1926, in Arenzville, the son of Leslie and Marie Horney Houghton. He married Betty Jaggers in 1946 in Springfield.

Mr. Houghton retired as a welder.

Survivors: wife, Betty; three sons, Clarence, David Bruce and Roy Houghton, all of Lincoln; two daughters, Linda (husband, Al) Jordan of Mountain Home, Ark., and Diane (husband, Joe) Powers of Lincoln; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Walters of Lincoln.

Graveside services: 2:30 p.m. Thursday, New Union Cemetery, Lincoln, Ryan Edgecomb officiating.¹

LEE -- Dorothy B. Houghton, 78, of Laurel Street died Saturday at Laurel Lake Center. Born in Waynesville, Ohio, on Aug. 10, 1924, daughter of N.P. and Gail Unglesby Blatt, she attended schools in New Bremen, Ohio. She resided in Philadelphia for many years and moved to the Berkshires in 1998. A Navy veteran of World War II, she was stationed in San Francisco. Mrs. Houghton was employed as a medical librarian at the University of Pennsylvania for 25 years, retiring in the 1980s. Her husband, Jack E. Houghton Sr., whom she married in 1946, died in 1999. She leaves two sons, Jack E. Houghton Jr. of West Stockbridge and Richard Houghton of Tampa, Fla; five daughters, Lois Houghton of Great Barrington, Linda Dingman and Louanne Leonhart, both of Alexandria Bay, N.Y., and Terry Larson and Kathy Coker, both of St. Augustine, Fla; and 10 grandchildren.²
