Robert L. Harding, 46, of Bridgeton died peacefully at home following a brief illness.
Born in Wiesbaden, Germany, Robert was the son of Robert Eugene Harding and Barbara Jean (nee Stumpp) Harding of Texarkana, Texas. He was raised in Texas and for the past several years was a resident of Bridgeton. He was the companion for the last twenty-two years of Rhoda S. Cain.
He served briefly in the United States Marine Corps and attended the Atlantic County Technical Education Center where he received his certification in culinary arts. He served as the cook and later as the manager of the Bridge Town Restaurant in Bridgeton. Robert later worked at various area nursing homes. His last place of employment was as the food service director at Rainbow Nursing Center.
A member of the Meade-Woodward Post #1795 VFW in Bridgeton, he loved all kinds of music and was a Dallas Cowboy Fan.
In addition to his longtime companion and his parents, he is survived by two daughters, Andrea Harding of Tennessee and Tiffany Reiser of Vineland, four grandchildren, three step-children, Larry, Barbara and Michael Cain all at home and six step-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Karen Amaranto (Paul) of Stow Creek Twp., Donna Harding of Atlanta, GA and Linda Carroll of Maryland and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton on Friday March 20th at 3 o’clock where friends will be received from 2 until 3.
Pastor David L. Strope of the West Park United Methodist Church will officiate.
Cremation and inurnment took place at the Laurel Lawn Crematory in Upper Deerfield Township.
The interment of the cremated remains will occur privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to SJ Health Care – HospiceCare, PO Box 160, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.

Born in Chicago,Ill., she lived in Vineland for the past 13 years.
She was employed as manager at the Pep Boys store in Vineland for several years, and recently worked for Bally's Casino in Atlantic City. She enjoyed gardening and animals.
Surviving are two sons, Gary Reiser of Newark, and Wes Reiser of Trenton; two daughters, Vickie Moir and Tiffany Reiser, both of Vineland; and three grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 1019 E. Landis Ave., Vineland, where friends may call after noon. Burial will be private.
