The information I have on Thomas B. Shaw comes from the Membership Roster book of the A. L. Robeson Post 42 GAR from Bridgeton NJ. The book is in the custody of the Cumberland County Historical Society, Greenwich NJ.
Thomas B. Shaw born Newport NJ. The book incorrectly numbers him as 101 but the correct sequence would assign him as number 131. Age: 44, Birthplace: Newport, Residence: Bridgeton, Ocupation: Huckster, Entry into service: Sept. 1/ 62 Pvt Co "B 25th NJ Vol, Final discharge: June 29/ 63 Pvt Co B 25 NJ Vol, Length of Service: 9 (mo), Cause of Discharge: Exparation of term, Date of Muster into GAR: May 10/83, When dropped: Dec. 27/88.
Another document I have a copy of that I take to be a typed transcript of the GAR roster book lists him with the 24th NJ but I think this is just a typo and dismissed it.
Thank you for your additional information. I will update my files and have the information added to the web page. Please keep us informed if you come up with any additional information about any GAR member.
Sincerely;
Robert Wilhelm PCC
