The Titus name is of Roman origin. Silius Titus claimed to be of the same family as the Emperor Titus who commanded the Roman forces at the siege of Jerusalem in 70 AD. There may have been Titus family in England for as long a time as when the Romans first came to settle in the north on the island of Britain. Caesar invaded Britain 55-54 B.C..
