April of 1777, William Snelling was drafted for a period of fix months into the
militia under the command of Captain Davis.
In his pension application, William states that the company was marched
to Leesburg, and that he and all of the company was hospitalized with small

April of 1779, into a company commanded by Captain Augustine Smith for a period
of 9 months. The company was sent to the
Albanan Barracks to guard British prisoners and did so until Cornwallis arrived
with his army. On the appearance of
Cornwallis' army, they left the Barracks and were reconnoitering the county

I subsequently have added to it (links and text) and removed all below my direct ancestors to prevent information on living persons from showing. It is possible originator pulled from internet (or changed format so I cannot locate and now credit appropriately) for similar reasons.
