DAVID MAGEE

 Said to have been born in Scotland in the mid to late 1780's. I have never been able to find a direct information on where he was born.

 Was in Madison County, KY in 1792

 Married:   Mary (Poly or Polly) Curlew of French decent on November 19, 1812 in Caldwell County, KY. 
 Mary was born in Virginia on December 10, 1790

He located in Madison County, KY. In early years he migrated to Macon County, MO with the Carson's - members of the famous Kit Carson Family. Ordained as a Baptist Minister in 1818 in Howard County, MO; he was well known as a pioneer preacher in Howard and Macon Counties until his death.

 David is buried in Miller Cemetery near the Miller School - East of Keota and South of Bevier in Macon County, Missouri in 1830's     NOTE: Macon County was formed in 1837. Prior to that it was part of Randolph County ... prior to that Howard County.

 Mary is buried in Fairmont Cemetery in Gainesville, TX next to her son John Calhoun Magee

             murdered  on December 10, 1848 by Nancy’s brother - Oliver Perry Magee

 Second Marriage:        Allen Penton in MO and moved to Spanish Fort, TX (Montague County) in the
                                        1850's

 

Oliver Perry Magee - born November 7, 1813 in Macon County, KY - died April 11, 1871 in Macon
                                      County,  MO  

Married:        Caroline Matilda White who was born in Howard County in 1820 and died in                         
                       Unionville, MO on December 19, 1911 

Evaline Magee - born about 1815 and died in April 1900 in Texas

Married:           Wilson L Fletcher in Missouri

Came to Texas with John C Magee, W T G Weaver and others from Macon, MO in 1854 

 

Samuel Lewis Magee - born October 25, 1818 near St. Louis, MO and died April 8, 1852 
                                           at Cairo, Alexander County, IL. He is buried in the Odd fellows Cemetery
                                           in Mound City, IL  

Oliver Perry Magee

  Born November 7, 1813 in Madison County, KY.  Died on April 11, 1871 or 1875??  

 Married:         Caroline Matilda White, daughter of Thomas R. White of Kentucky. Born in 1820 in 
                         Howard County, MO  and died December 19, 1911 in Unionville, MO. Said to be part
                        Cherokee  (from Tennessee)  

Buried in Hartford, Missouri in unmarked grave next to his son Samuel H (marked) and another son John Wilson (unmarked)

Born February 8, 1891 - died March 22, 1969 at Putnam County Memorial Hospital in Missouri. Buried at the
Mount Olivett Cemetary in Marceline, MO. next to "Grandpa Harry."
