        JOHN NICHOLSON was born January 28, 1804 in North Carolina.  He married  MARY (POLLY) MCIVER, February 15, 1829, who was born September 17, 1805 in North Carolina.  He died February 24, 1862.  She died November 18, 1884.  Both are buried in the Nicholson Cemetery in San Augustine, County, Texas.   John Nicholson came to San Augustine County 1830.

2.  JOHN MORGAN NICHOLSON, second child of John and Mary McIver Nicholson born 8-19-1831, married, first,  MARGARET HOLLIS, February  24, 1860.  He married, second, MARIA DAVIS BARNETT, September 14, 1865. John died 1884.  Margaret  died August 20, 1905.  John and Maria are buried at Nicholson Cemetery.  San Augustine, Texas.

3.  PETER EDWARD NICHOLSON, third child of John and Mary McIver Nicholson, born March 3, 1833,  married EMERETT M. SHARP January 17, 1850 in Sabine County, Texas.  She was born January 17, 1834 in Ohio.  He died February 20, 1863 while home on furlough and is buried  at McMahon's Chapel Cemetery, Sabine County, Texas. He was in Lane's Regiment, Capt. Edwards.  Emerett died February 19, 2000.

The children of Peter Edward and Mary McIver Nicholson:

1a.  JAMES EDWARD NICHOLSON, first child of Peter Edward and Emeritt Sharp Nicholson, born 1-23-1857, married LUCINDA ALMARINE EVERETT, 1884.  He died January 26, 1936.  She was born March 29, 1851 in Georgia and died July 6, 1946.    Both are buried at Fairview Cemetery, Center, Texas.     See EVERETT family in HAMILTON family.           

The Children of James Edward and Lucinda Everett Nicholson:                                      

2a.      MARY ALICE NICHOLSON, second child of Peter Edward and Emerett Sharp Nicholson, married THOMAS THOMPSON December 7, 1876.  She was born January 30, 1859 and died March 18, 1937 in Kaufman, Texas..  He died November 30, 1895.   

The Children of Thomas and Mary Alice Nicholson Thompson:

3a.  SARAH EMERETTE NICHOLSON, third child of Peter Edward and Emerett Sharp, married George Crittenden Samford, April 20, 1886.  He was born August 24, 1859 and died August 24, 1886. 

4a  ANNIE ADELINE NICHOLSON, fourth child of Peter Edward and Emerett Sharp Nicholson, born February 18, 1863.  She married CHARLES ALEXANDER BRADY.  See CHARLES ALEXANDER BRADY in GREER FAMILY.

11.  NEIL MARTIN NICHOLSON, eleventh child of John and Mary Nicholson, was born February 5, 1848.  He married OLIVIA (LEVY)  EVERETT in 1873.   She was born September 29, 1854 in Georgia. She was the daughter of ALFRED EVERETT and CHARLOTTE HAMILTON.  She died on July 9, 1943 in Shelby County.   Neil Martin died on December 27, 1913.  They are buried at Hamilton-Nicholson-Everett Cemetery.

The children of Neil and Olivia Everett Nicholson:   

1.  ALFRED NASH NICHOLSON, first child of Neil and Olivia Everett Nicholson, was born in 1877 in Shelby County. He Married EMERETTE MARTIN, February 27, 1904. Aunt Zelda Hamilton Mask said they ran dairy in Nacogdoches, Texas.

The Children of Alfred and Emerette Nicholson:

CHARLES MARTIN, father of Sally Martin,  came from Prussia or Germany.   He Married ELIZABETH DOWLING.  They are buried at Short Cemetery, Shelby County, Texas.  See HAMILTON FAMILY for more on Martins.                                                        

The Children of  Charles and Elizabeth Dowling Martin:

1a.  JACK E. MARTIN, first child of  Charles Martin and Elizabeth Dowling Martin, married SALLY V. EVERETT,  December 01, 1884.   He died 1934.  She was born November 15, 1861. She was the daughter of Alfred Pinkney and Charlotte Colwell Hamilton.  For more on EVERETT family see HAMILTON.   

2. ALMA NICHOLSON,  second child of Neil and Olivia Everett Nicholson, was born September 1875.  She married BOB HUGHES.  No other data available.

3.   HUGH A. NICHOLSON, third child of Neil and Olivia Everett Nicholson, married JEFFIE WHEELER.

The children of Hugh and Jeffie Wheeler Nicholson:

3.  ZACHARY HAMP NICHOLSON, fourth child of Neil and Olivia Everett Nicholson, was born May 10, 1889 in Shelby County.  He married BEULAH THOMAS WILLIAMS on December 16, 1919 in Shelby County.  She was born September 28, 1897 and died August 6, 1948 and is buried in Sand Hill Cemetery, Shelby County, Texas.  Zachary died on December 25, 1967 and is buried in Oaklawn Cemetery, Shelby County, Texas..

The children of Zachary and Beulah Williams Nicholson:

a.  IVA NEAL NICHOLSON, first child of Zachary and Beulah Williams Nicholson, was born in 1920 in Shelby County, Texas.  He married VESSIE INMAN on August 17, 1940 in Shelby County, Texas.  He was born May 25, 1915 in Shelby County, Texas.

The children of Vessie and Iva Nicholson:

b.  MAXIE NICHOLSON, second child of Zachary and Beulah Williams Nicholson, was born October 21, 1924 in Shelby County.  He married JESSIE MURIEL CROSBY on January 17, 1947 in Pineland, Texas.  Born may 26, 1932 in Zvalla, Texas, she was the daughter of CHARLIE CROSBY and FANNIE SMITHHART.

The children of Maxie and Muriel Crosby Nicholson:

1a.   DON KENNETH NICHOLSON, first child of Maxie and Muriel Crosby Nicholson, was born October 21, 1947 in Center, Shelby County, Texas.  He married first KATE STOBBE.  He married second time SANDRA LU MAPLES on December 27, 1969.

The children of Don and Sandra Maples Nicholson:

2a  MAXINE NICHOLSON, second child of Maxie and Muriel Crosby Nicholson, was born April 13, 1949 in San Augustine, Texas.  She married first KENNETH HOLLINGSHEAD on February 13, 1970.  She married second time PHILLIP KELLOGG on August 1, 1973.

3a  ROBERT PAUL NICHOLSON, third child of Maxie and Muriel Crosby Nicholson, was born January 11, 1955 in San Augustine, Texas.  He married DENISE THOMPSON.

The Children of Robert and Denise Thompson Nicholson:

4a   MARK CLAY NICHOLSON, fourth child of Maxie and Muriel Crosby Nicholson, was born November 1, 1960 in Beaumont, Texas.  He married ANN MARIE DUFFY on July 2, 1983 in Jefferson County, Texas.

c.   THOMAS AARON NICHOLSON, Third child of Zachary Hamp Nicholson and Beulah Thomas (Tempie) Williams.  He married PATSY MERLE PYLE June 01, 1956 at San Augustine, Texas.

1a.  PAMULA SEYMONE NICHOLSON, first child of Thomas Aaron and Patsy Pyle Nicholson, married JAMES GOSSAGE.

2a TOMMY BRENT NICHOLSON, second child of Thomas and Patsy Nicholson.  He married RUTH DOPSON.

The Childen of Tommy and Ruth Dopson Nicholson:

d.  OLIVIA JANET NICHOLSON, fourth child of Zachary Ham Nicholson and Beulah Thomas Williams Nicholson.  She was born February 2, 1937 in Shelby County, Texas.   She married Billy Gene Emanis. He was born August 28, 1932 in Shelby County. 

The Children of  BILLY GENE  and OLIVIA JANET NICHOLSON EMANIS:

    1d.  CHARLOTTE JAN EMANIS, first child of Olivia Janet Nicholson and Billy Gene Emanis,  married Donald Meaux.

  5a.  LONNIE NICHOLSON, fifth child of Neil and Olivia Everett Nicholson, married Cecil Gallantly.

  LITTLE JOHN MCIVER (Old timers pronounced it "McKeever" but later generations called it "McI-ver", was born in Scotland and married MARY MONROE also from Scotland.

1b. CATHERINE MCIVER, first child of Little John and Mary Monroe,married MALCOLM DALRYMPLE MCGILVARY September 18, 1811.  He died June 8, 1841.  She died November 23, 1828.

ALEXANDER NICHOLSON, third child of Duncan and Flora Nicholson McIver, married MARY LEACH March 29,1849.  She was born January 31, 1850 and died May 20, 1905 in North Carolina.  Alexander died April 27, 1907 in North Carolina.

1c. DANIEL RODERICK MCIVER,  first child of Alexander and Flora Nicholson McIver, married ADELAIDE DENNIS June 1874.  She was born September 19, 1853.  He died August 12, 1882.

The Children of Daniel and Adelaide Dennis McIver:

1a.  DRURY LACY MCIVER, first child of Daniel and  Adelaide Dennis, married LILLIE RIDDLE.  She was born November 26, 1880. 

The Children of Drury and Lillie Riddle McIver:

3a.  EMMA JEAN MCIVER, third child of Daniel and Adelaide Dennis McIver,   married    WILLIAM J. BOURNE.  He was born December 20, 1867.

The Children of William J. and Emma Jean McIver Bourne:

3a.  MARY JANE MCIVER, second child of Alexander Nicholson and Mary Leach, married JAMES WILLIAM COLE, April 9, 1874.  He died May 21, 1923.  She died December 27, 1939.

The Children of James and Mary Jane McIver Cole:

    6b. KENNETH MCIVER, sixth child of Duncan and Flora Nicholson McIver, married JANE BAKER.  Kenneth died 1867.

MURDICK MCIVER born 1820 from North Carolina married NANCY POLK born in 1813 in North Carolina.  Do not know how this family is connected to the above families but would like to know.
