Wednesday April 11, 2001 April 26, 1909 -- April 7, 2001 Olive A. Hillers, 91, of Fountain Green, died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center, LaHarpe. She was born April 26, 1909, in Webster, the daughter of James and Mary (Reynolds) Yetter. She married Fred Hillers on January 6, 1926, in Carthage. He survives. She is survived by one daughter, Mabel Hasten, Blandinsville; one son, Edwin Hillers, LaHarpe; one brother, Franklin Yetter, LaHarpe; one sister, Anna Mary Jones, Webster; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Harley Yetter; and one sister, Forrest Fuller. She lived all her life near Webster and Fountain Green. She was a telephone operator in Fountain Green for 26 years and served as Justice of the Peace in Fountain Green for two terms. She also served as the substitute postmaster at the post office in Fountain Green. She was a member of the Fountain Green Presbyterian Church and the church's Sunshine Class and the U.S.A. Club of Webster. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 11 (today), at 11 a.m. at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe, with Rev. Larry Van Gundy officiating. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Grace Bible Church of Dallas City and the Fountain Green Fire Department. |
Wednesday January 28, 2004 Aug. 12, 1904 -- Jan. 22, 2004 Fred Hillers, 99, of Fountain Green, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage. He was born in Tazewell County on Aug. 12, 1904, the son of Wilhelm and Katie Cramer Hillers. On Jan. 6, 1926, he married Olive Yetter in Carthage. She died April 7, 2001. He is survived by one daughter, Mabel Hasten of rural Blandinsville; one son, Edwin Hillers of rural LaHarpe; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Webster Cemetery. Rev. Lee Unger officiated. A memorial has been established for the Fountain Green Fire Department. |
