Louisa Taylor came to the United States from England. She was the third wife of Jabez Avery Beebe, one of the earliest settlers in the area later named Fountain Green Township. From that marriage two children were born, Charles and Minnie. Follow the link to Jabez for additional information.
Many years Louisa's senior, Jabez died in the summer of 1871. The following spring, on February 1, 1872, Louisa and Thomas J. Sturr were married. As far as we know they had no children together. Marriage License February 12, 1890 Excerpted from Chat's column, Webster: Mrs. Thos. Sterr, who died at her home near La Crosse, Sunday, was buried in this cemetery to-day. Rev. Wigel conducted the services. Mrs. Sterr was a kind, affectionate mother and neighbor. For many years she was a resident of this place, and was loved by all who knew her. There is scarcely a family in this neighborhood but has been cared for in hours of sickness by Mrs. Sterr. All who followed her remains to their last resting place returned with a heavy heart and a tear bedewed face. May she rest in peace. Later in the column: J. P. Weiser and Miss Lyde Coleman, LaCrosse, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pennock, Burnside, and Mr. and Mrs. M. Robinson, of Ft. Green attended the funeral of Mrs. Sterr, and dined with your scribe and family. Excerpted from Junius' column, LaCrosse: Mrs. Thomas Sterr, living one mile south of here, died Saturday night, aged about 60 years. Burial to-day at the Webster cemetery; funeral preached by Rev. Mr. Nagle, of Dallas City.
