Murdock, Samuel 1799-1849 Born Ireland 1799; migrated to New York state 18??; migrated to Lenawee County, Michigan Territory, 1833.   Purchased two land parcels in Raisin Township in 1833 (80 acres in Section 22 and 80 acres in Section 33).   Married Margaret Graham 1843.   Died Raisin Township 1849.   Believed to be the brother of Robert Murdock, although there is no known documentation to confirm this belief.   [Thanks to Lawrence Kopke for this information.]

Donaldson Whipple; grandfather of Lothario D. Whipple.   Born Connecticut 1752; in Connecticut Militia fighting in Vermont with Green Mountain Boys during Vermont's war of independence; Sergeant in Massachusetts Militia during American Revolutionary War.   Left Connecticut due to religious intolerance; settled in Hanover, New Hampshire.   In later years, apparently moved to Michigan to be near his son Walter, and died in 1833 while in Michigan.   [Thanks to Beverly Huckins for this information.]
