Born Connecticut 1752; in Connecticut Militia fighting in Vermont with Green Mountain Boys during Vermont's war of independence; Sergeant in Massachusetts Militia during American Revolutionary War. Left Connecticut due to religious intolerance; settled in Hanover, New Hampshire. In later years, apparently moved to Michigan to be near his son Walter, and died in 1833 while in Michigan.
