Mary Ann Matthews, daughter of Harmon P. and Mary (Gates) Matthews, was born 18 March 1841, in Hopewell, Mississippi, and died 8 December 1897, in Brookhaven, Mississippi.  She married 25 November 1858 to Joseph Bonaparte Reed, who was born 13 March 1835 and died 21 May 1914.   They were married and reared their family in Hopewell, Mississippi.   He was married the second time to Mary Woodward.  He was the son of James M. and Nancy Davis Reed.

Margaret Elizabeth Reed, born 2 May 1864, in Hopewell, Mississippi, married Augustus Odem Hammill.  Died April 1948.

Sophrona Ann Reed, born 27 July 1866, in Hopewell, Mississippi, 8 January 1916.   Married the fist time to Willie Wright.    Married the second time to Francis Edward Stanley, 18 May 1900, who was the son of Henry Stanley of Dublin, Ireland and Anna Delilah Warner.   He was born 19 November 1854 in Ireland and died 15 December 1940.   Their children:

Nancy Madora Reed, born 31 January 1869, in Hopewell, Mississippi, died 28 June 1926.  She married John Case.

Henry White Reed, born 3 June 1872, in Hopewell, Mississippi, died 28 February 1937.  He married Aggie Melvina Case, daughter of Thomas and Nancy Jane (Ratcliff) Case.  She was born 11 April 1878, in Brookhaven, Mississippi and did 15 July 1956 in Jackson, Mississippi.  Both are buried in the Mormon Cemetery in the Red Star Community, Brookhaven, Mississippi.   Children of Henry and Aggie Melvina (Case) Reed are as follows:

        1.  Willie Houston Reed, born 22 March 1896 in Brookhaven, Mississippi, died 26 August 1941.  Married Grace Adeline Britt, 2 December 1917, who was born 16 March 1896, a daughter of Mayberry and Arbella Virgina (Jackson) Britt.  Willie Houston Reed is buried in the Mormon Cemetery in Lloyd Star Community.   Their children:

        6. Thomas Joseph Reed, born 19 February 1904, in Brookhaven, Mississippi, died 15 June 1966.  Married Myrtelene Buckalew 5 May 1930.

        7.  Annie Louelle Reed, born 20 August 1906, in Brookhaven, Mississippi.  Married William Penn Jackson 17 July 1931.

        8.  Gladys Mae Reed, born 11 January 1909, in Brookhaven, Mississippi.  Married Harvey Earl Woods, 21 September 1935.

        9.  Parley H. Reed, born 22 November 1911, in Brookhaven, Mississippi, died 26 December 1934.  Never married.
