During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 3 October 1861 (1, 2). He was mustered in, as a private in company I (1, 2, 5-6).

He was killed on 13 December 1862 at Fredericksburg, Virginia (1, 3). He was a private, in company I (5-6).

After the war

On 24 April 1885, his mother, Jane [or June?] Rogers, applied successfully from Ireland for a pension (3, 4).
